Played 1 Tournament

Only played one tournament this weekend and that was just to quench the hunger, it was the $28 Guaranteed. I played alright for a little while, but I was studying and made one bad move that cost me my stack. Here are all the important hands:

Chip Up a Little – This is a nice hand where I believe I’m ahead out of the gate and just try to extract as many chips as I can.

Isolate a Short Stack – I make a raise here that tells everyone left that I want to play for all of the short stacks chips, but also so that if someone does call and the small stack pushes I Re-raise to punish who ever tags along, but nobody does.

Weird Hand- I raise with this hand to mix it up, and get a good flop. I hit my straight on the turn and put a nice value bet in on the river. I really liked how the opponent played this hand.

Busto- Wow I suck.  I raise UTG because I need chips and since I was studying this whole tournament I have only played 6% of my hands and thought I would get some respect. In retro-spec I did get the respect and should have understood they would only play back with a good hand. Bad play me.

  1. Thats a shame. It only takes one moment of madness to undo a whole tournament’s worth of effort and patience. I had a similar thing happen to me not too long ago in a MTT. One little slip up and I had wasted hours of gameplay. It sucks. However, if you raise in early position with AT, and get re-raised you really have to ask yourself what kind of hand re-raises a tight player who has led out in early position. What cards did you think he had?
